Randy Kono has been a creative person for most of his life, but finally picked up a paintbrush in the year 2000. Since then he has enjoyed painting, sculpture, puppetry, photography, and video and continues to embrace these mediums as his form of therapy and expression.

In 2005, after being rejected by the famous Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California, Kono quickly fell into the Los Angeles "art scene" where he has met many amazing artists whom he has learned countless and invaluable things from. School was indeed in session.

Kono's primary point of interest focuses on the wonderful realm of anthropomorphism, where he bestows quirky human characteristics upon unsuspecting animals and inanimate objects. "If I had to describe my work in one word it would be: FUN" says Kono. "Few things make me feel better than seeing someone look at my art and smile".

Being a kid at heart himself, Kono is proud of the fact that his biggest fans have always been, and continue to be, children.

"They are the most open and honest critics I care to pay any attention to" he says.
